B Minor
24" x 35" Plexiglas and photos
An award winning piece, B Minor is a "transparent collage" with the frontal image being a self-portrait of my back painted like a guitar to show my passion for music. As I was looking at the guitar portrait, I noticed how much I could manipulate it. I started to overlap and cross portions of my photographs to create an almost Dada looking collage. The body starts to form and twist into new forms in a rhythmic motion. It is literally a twist on Man Ray's Kiki, Ingres' Violin.
